How I made the BIGGEST decision in my LIFE

Since I was a little girl I have always wanted to serve a mission.  I remember being in the car with my dad as a little girl and telling him that I was going to go on a mission. When I turned 21 Clayton was still in the picture.  I thought for sure we would get married.  I continued to pray constantly to know whether or not I was supposed to serve a mission, but it never felt right.  Something always seemed to be in the way whether I was back with Clayton, or I got into school, wanted to get married, didn't want to miss out on my brother's wedding, new nephew, or the fact that I was too old in my eyes.  After Clayton cheated on me for the 3rd time, and after we broke up I started thinking about it again.  I remember driving by my NANAs old house and wondering if she would be proud of me.  I was instantly filled with the spirit, and her love.  At that moment I wondered whether or not I was supposed to go on a mission.  I didn't really think about it after that.  Some major trials continued to happen in my life and I decided to move home.   I got a calling the first week I moved back.  I was set apart that same Sunday by Brother Jenks who I didn't know at all.  He had moved into the ward while I was away.  He knew nothing about me.  During the blessing he kept pausing for what seemed like 5 minutes (it was more like 20 seconds my dad tells me).  Finally he said something that would change my life forever.  He told me that if I had a desire to serve a mission that my Heavenly Father would support me.  At that moment I knew that I was to serve a mission.  I knew that Heavenly Father had a plan for me, and he was waiting for that perfect time when he knew I was ready to receive the answer I had waited two years for.  My life has been like a crazy puzzle and now the pieces are all finally fitting together.  I look at my life two years ago and I was no where near ready to serve a mission.  I am a completely different person now then I was then.  I am so excited to become an instrument unto the Lord.  To serve with all of my might, mind, and stregnth.  To make my Heavenly Father proud.  I have been blessed my whole life with the Gospel.  It brings me pure JOY each and everyday.  I can't wait to give others that same JOY that I have.  I know it will be the hardest thing that I ever do, but I know it will be the most REWARDING thing that I do.  My life will be eternally blessed.

On April 15, 2012 I turned in my MISSION PAPERS. April 25, 2012 my call came in the mail.  I was at school until noon.  My mom ran down to the post office early that morning to go and pick up my call.  Knowing that my call was sitting on the counter made it really hard to concentrate during class.  I finally got home around noon, and there it was sitting on the counter.  It was so hard not to just rip it open.  I had to wait until 8 to open it because Easton had a game.  It was seriously the longest day of my life.

Logan played such a huge role in my decision to serve a mission.  He has been such an amazing example to me.  I look at the man that he has become, and I want that for me.  I hope that I can be half of the missionary that he is.

I love these two girls more then anything.  They have always been there for me through the thick and the thin, and have been such a huge example to me.  They are truly my sisters who will always play a huge part in my life.

Linds is my partner in crime, she is my blonde ditzy friend, she is the best listener, and I could go on forever!   I honestly don't know where I would be without her.  She is MY BEST FRIEND!!  I remember the day we became friends. Who knew we would be forever friends.

I was overwhelmed with how many friends and family were there to support me.  I am one lucky girl.  Each and everyone of them have played such a huge role in getting me to where I am now!!

This is my second mom ANNETTE.  She is as good as it gets.  A neat story that Annette told me that I had forgotten was when I was on Heritage tours.  We were sitting at Winter Quarters, and I turned to her and said how great it would be to be a sister missionary there. Heavenly Father was listening that exact day, and knew that was where I needed to serve.
I have been called to serve in the OMAHA, NEBRASKA MISSION. I will serve part of my mission at Winter Quarters on the Mormon Trail.  I will leave September 12, 2012.  I could not be more excited to serve the people of Nebraska.  I know that is where Heavenly Father needs me to be.  I can't wait to bring them the pure JOY that I have.  I know that this is the true and living Gospel.  That Heavenly Father has a plan for each and everyone of us.  He is aware of our every need, and will never lead us astray.  I am grateful for Joseph Smith and for the courage that he had to restore this gospel for us in this latter day.  I know that Christ lives, and atoned for our sins so that we could repent and live with him again.  This gospel is true, and I get to tell the world about it!!

Whittaker Family Home Evening

We have started a new tradition with the Whittaker Family which I love.  Each month we get together for FHE. It gives us the excuse to get together and enjoy each others company.  The older I get the more I realize how important family is.  My friends come and go, but my family is always there for me.  They make me laugh,  want to be better
Shea, Mom, and Cathy

We were lucky to have Chezney in town.  It has been a year since we all got to see her.  She has grown up into a beautiful girl. I am excited to get to see her this summer.

Todd, Boomer, Chase, Dani, and Ryne

Chezney, Me, and Mugs
Meggie gave a great lesson on Forgiveness .  She asked me to share an experience that I had  with forgiveness.  I immediately thought about my experience with Clayton.  Although it was a terrible experience, and he did some terrible things to me I knew that in order for me to move on with my life I would have to forgive him.  I remember the day I finally woke up and forgave him.  It was like a boulder had been lifted from my shoulders.  Heavenly Father loves each of his children, and I know that he loves Clayton and in order for me to have the spirit with me I had to forgive him as well.  I am grateful for the gospel and for the opportunity it gives me to be the best I possibly can be.  To strive each day to make good decisions, and always have the spirit to be with me.  There is nothing better then that!!

Easter Sunday

Easter is by far one of my favorite holidays.  One, I love the candy.  Cadbury Eggs just make me so happy.  They are delicious!  Second, I love our annual Easter Egg hunt. Third, the chance I get to spend time with my family. Fourth, the opportunity we get to remember the Savior and his atoning sacrifice for us.  We had a great Easter with the Boghs.
Jaxon, Easton, Me, Devyn, and J
The look on Jaxon and Easton's face is priceless. I think they were excited to start the Easter Egg Hunt!

Jensen is King of the Easter Egg Hunt.  He gets the most eggs every year.  It is everybody's goal to beat him.

Devyn the little STINKER got the $20 and the $10

This kid has such a special place in my heart.  He has such a big heart, and his smiles just melts my heart.  He is like my own little kid.  I can't believe how old he is getting.  The last time I stayed with him I loved watching him with all of his friends.  They all just love him, and he is so nice to them.

Sling Golf Tournament is a definite tradition with the Boghs.  Pop made each of our slings.  They are awesome, and we all love to go and play.  It is pretty sad that I am the oldest, but yet the worst.  I totally hit myself in the face with my sling, and was hoping that nobody saw me, but of course Dev saw the whole thing.  Let's just say we were both rolling on the ground because we were laughing so dang hard, and I never heard the end of it.

The chillins all sat in the kitchen while the adults sat in the dining room.  Let's just saw we had way to much fun, and were literally laughing the whole time.  Easton and Jax both have this contagious laugh where once on starts everybody the everybody looses it! There is never a dull moment.... Jensen is pretty proud of those abs!
The Easter bunny still come to visit me even though I am 22.  This was my Easter Basket when I was a kid.  I love it!!

 My true LOVE

So funny story that happened at church.  I am the primary chorister which I continue to love!!  Well we were  talking about Easter and playing a game.  They had to answer questions and one of the question was who removed the stone from the tomb.  So the kids are all telling me answers like, angel, Heavenly Father, etc.  Well I just kept saying no keep trying, and they kept saying the ANGEL.  Well me being really smart I was like no it was actually MARY. I am so glad to know that my primary kids are smarter then me.  One of them was like Jordyn your wrong it was the ANGEL.  I was so embarrassed!! My face went bright red.

I truly am so grateful for the opportunity that we have to celebrate Easter.  For the chance we get to take one day, and REMEMBER the SAVIOR. To remember the pain and suffering that he went through for each of us.  To remember him taking upon our sins so that we can have the opportunity to repent and become forgiven.  To remember those times in my life where I felt so alone, and my Savior was always there for me. To remember feeling his constant love for me.  I am so blessed to have a testimony of the Savior to know that he does LIVE and he will COME AGAIN!!

Five Years ago my Nana passed away.  Not a day goes by that I don't think of her.  She was such an amazing example to me and my family.  I am so grateful for the knowledge that we have of the plan of salvation.  I will see her again, but for now she is constantly watching out for me.  I drove by her house a couple of months ago, and as I did I thought to myself if she would be proud of me.  I was instantly filled with her love.  It was like her arms were wrapped around me.  I truly am blessed to have her still in my life.

Meet Wesley

So I am not the biggest dog person I have come to find, but all of a sudden I just wanted a little dog so bad. So I talked my dad into getting my mom a little pomapoo for her birthday. I am in love with this little one. I can now say that I am a dog lover. A little dog lover haha!! Wesley has so much energy, and has been so fun!!
It doesn't get much cuter then that. He is just a little fur ball. He will get to be around 10lbs. So just a little thing. Oh and he doesn't shed. Yeah!!!

Staying with MEGGIE

A couple of weeks ago I got to stay with Meg. She truly is one amazing girl. She is as sweet as they come. I don't know if I have ever heard her say one negative thing about somebody else. She strives to be the best she can be and excels in everything that she does. I look up to her a lot, and had such a great time spending time with her.
On Friday she had a competition, and her team won. So now this lucky girl gets to go to Florida. I thought she looked so cute all dressed up.
We laughed all week long. We watched movies, cooked, went out to eat, got hot chocolate, and just had a good time!
Ha ha this picture makes me laugh so hard. It was Dani's birthday and so we surprised her with some balloons and some cake bites. Meg sure looks cute in this picture!!
I am so grateful to have such great cousins. It was so fun partying it up with Meg all week. Todd and Ann you can go out of town anytime you want. Mugs I love your face. You just put a smile on everyone's face, and make them want to strive to be better.
