Sister Whittaker begins her Mission Experience

For the next 18 months, I (Jordy's Mom Marnie) will be posting of Sister Whittaker's amazing experiences, along with pictures.  This is such an exciting time for Sister Whittaker that we didn't want her viewers to skip a beat on what is in store in her life....We love her, are so proud of her, and look forward to an amazing 18 months in the mission field.

The Setting Apart......
Our Stake President, President Welch set Jordy apart as a missionary and representative of Jesus Christ.  He blessed her with amazing things that would help her throughout her life and throughout her mission.  Our immediate family was able to all be there and the Melchezidek priesthood holders in our family was able to participate, which was truly amazing as well.  Sista Whitt will be a fantastic missionary and will bless the lives of so many, including her greatest fans her at home. GO COUGARS!!!!

My family are die hard BYU fans.  We have had season tickets every since I can remember.  I love going to the games, and being together as we cheer on our Cougars.  I was lucky enough to go to the first two games this season before I leave.  They won both games I must be a good lucky charm.  I hope they can continue on to a great season!!! GO COUGARS!!!

The Light of my Life

Wyatt J. Henrie is truly the light of my life.  I don't know how I am going to say goodbye to him.  I have been obsessed with taking pictures of him.  These are some of my favorites.  I hope that while I am serving the Lord that he can grow into a strong, healthy little boy.  Most importantly I hope that he will remember his Auntie Toej.  By remembering I mean I hope that his mom will show him my picture every day.  It is truly amazing how much you can grow to love someone who has just been a part of your life for such a short time.  I love you Wyatt J.  I have to say he is the cutest baby I have ever seen!!!

Labor Day 5K

On Labor Day my family decided to run the 5K.  It was a fundrasor for Jensen's Swim Team.  It was Easton's very first race.  He did amazing.  He ran the whole thing with my Dad and I.  It was such a great experience.  It reminded me that life is so hard sometimes, but if we focus on something such as the temple, family, friends, the gospel we can get through anything.  What helps me when I run is focusing on a tree or something and trying to make it to that next point.  This helped Easton a lot during the race.  I was so proud of him.  I am so grateful that running is apart of my life.  I have two of the best running buddies.  Kim and my mom.  We have been through lots together, and I can truly call both of them my best friends.  I am excited to come back, and continue on our journey of RUNNING!!!

Saratoga Springs Flood

My family had an amazing opportunity to help out with the floods in Saratoga Springs.  It is an experience that I will never forget.  There were over 26 homes that were affected by the flood, one being my Aunt Marjolie.  As we went to check on her there were hundreds on cars, and people everywhere ready to serve.  There were so many houses that were destroyed.  One house that we worked on for a couple hours had mud that was 9 ft tall with tons of hail.  It was devastating. We formed lines carrying buckets, and sand bags.    One man told us that just that day they had 500 members helping out.  This is why our church is so great!!!  I have never experienced something quite like that.  Everybody was working so hard, and doing it with a positive attitude.  I am so blessed to be apart of a church that is so willing to serve.  This experience made me excited for my mission.  It made me realize that I can make a difference in somebodies life, but it also made me realize that I can find joy in doing it!!  My heart goes out to those affected by the flood.

Wyatt's Blessing Day

Wyatt J Henrie received a name and a blessing on September 2, 2012.  It was so great to be able to be apart of it.  He is the light of my life.  I am so excited to watch him learn and grow into such an amazing young man.  It was amazing to watch the priesthood holders in my life stand in the circle to give him a blessing.  I am so grateful for the priesthood, and the power that it brings to me in my life.  I love you Wyatt J.
