African Sista

I went to Africa 14 months ago. I can't believe how fast time goes by. I hadn't seen my African Sisters in a long time so we decided to go to dinner and catch up. We had so much fun! We went to Malowis. It is a pizza place in the River Bottoms that donates money to Africa that was delicious! We then went and saw a movie! We had a great night bringing back some of the memories we had in Africa. We sure laughed a lot and had a great time!AnneMarrie, Me, and Carlee

Are you ready for some FOOTBALL!

Jensen played Flag Football this year with a bunch of his buddies. They were so fun to watch! They had there last game last week and ended their season being undefeated! Jensen scored the winning touchdown. Way to go boys!!
I know he is my brother but I love this picture of him he looks like such a stud! I am proud of J and the amazing athlete that he is! He always does his best and has fun doing it!
Easton played tackle football this year. He has become quite the little football player. He just loves every minute of it. My mom said that he wakes up and puts his uniform on even if his game isn't for a couple of hours. He told me the other day that he is so good because J has taught him to be tough!

He had his last game today. Sadly they lost, but E did amazing! He scored a touchdown, threw a killer pass, caught an awesome pass, got the fumble, and had some great tackles. Everyone kept asking my mom what she fed him for breakfast that morning.

Thanks boys for letting me come and watch you play. I had a blast watching you work hard and improve. I am so proud of both of you and sure love you!!

Longest week of my LIFE!!

So this has seriously been one of the longest, worst weeks(okay maybe not the worst I am exaggerating a little bit) in my life. So let's just say that school totally kicked my trash this week. It all started with a test on Monday in Math. A very sad, hard day at work on Tuesday. Then a night of studying. I had to miss my favorite show Glee due to studying. I know end of the world right? Wednesday came with another test in Physiology (which I failed, GO ME!), and then off to work a night shift. Thursday I work up around 11. So I was running on four hours of sleep, but I did get my hair done(my mom knew I needed some pampering. Isn't she the greatest). Then I studied seriously all day and all night on Thursday. Here it is Friday and I just got done taking a test in Physiology which I studied so hard for, but left feeling like I failed yet again. Sometimes I wonder if I can handle nursing school. I hate science it just doesn't click in my brain. Especially when it is useful information that I am never going to use ever again. Well after leaving class so frustrated I went to math and found out I got 100% on my math test. So that was some positive news that I really needed. I then went and studied some more and took my Anatomy Lab Mid-Term. I actually left feeling pretty good about it! Hopefully I can get some positive results back from that. Four tests in a week is just a beast. I can't begin to tell you what a relief it is to be done. I am so glad that it is the weekend, and I don't have to think about school for a couple of days.

So to make this week even better I came out of class on Wednesday and found this lovely thing on my car. It is my own fault cause I don't have a parking pass. Don't worry after spending $90 to get it removed I got a parking pass.

So I think that I just needed to vent a little bit. This week was hard, but life isn't always easy, but it will be worth it in the end.

St. George Marathon

This Conference weekend we came down to St. George to watch our OLD MAN run his 7TH MARATHON. For any of you who don't know a Marathon is 26.2 miles. He amazes me everyday. He is in better shape then I am and I am 21. This Marathon was a different experience from the others. As I sit here and think about today it has taught me a great life lesson. My dad has two injuries. He has a hurt ankle, and a pulled groin. We were all so worried about him running this year because he wasn't in the best condition, but he has worked so hard, and my dad is NOT a quitter. He had a goal in mind and he was going to acheive that goal if it killed him. My dad came in at Four hours and Fourty Six minutes. He was planning on crossing at three hours and thirty minutes. As three hours and thirty minutes rolled around and my dad was not there the worries began. All I could do was ask my Heavenly Father to be with my dad. To help him have the stregnth that he needed to make it to the end. It got me thinking about how in life sometimes we don't start out 100%. Like in the race my dad wasn't 100% healthy, but if we have Faith in our Heavenly Father, and do the very best that we can then Heavenly Father will pick up the rest and that is exactly what he did for my dad. My dad didn't get the results that he wanted, but he did his best. He didn't just show up this morning not ready to run. He spent countless hours training for this marathon. He said that he felt great up until mile twenty when all of sudden the cramping began. He literally almost fell to the ground, but some man grabbed him just in time. There are so many people in our life ready to grab us when we fall, most importantly our Savior. We can't get through life alone. We have so many tools out there to help us. My dad was not alone today. I know for a fact that his dad was running right beside him pushing him to that finish line. That our Heavenly Father was with him as well.
Sometimes we don't get the results that we want, but we have to realize that it is what our Heavenly Father wants. He sees the big picture, and knows what we need. I am so proud of my dad for making it to the finish. For not giving up! He said it was one of the hardest things he has ever done, and also one of the most painful. It reminded me of life and how nothing comes easy, but we just have to keep on pluggin along, and that is exactly what he did today. He inspires me everyday to dream big and to accomplish my dreams. I know that I can accomplish anything if I set my mind to it. Just like my dad did today. I couldn't be more proud of him!!
